Wow, I can't believe no one has posted about this yet.  What did y'all think?  How do you guys celebrate Samhain or Halloween?

It's another 6 months before we celebrate it down here but they brought up an interesting point about how people seem to see the seasonal holidays as universal. We just did beltane and apart from people being much more open when talking about personal lives... well... it was fun but we'll keep the post PG13. What was said about the changing from light to dark halves of the year is also true, but in the reverse order. By the time christmas rolls around we really are in a materialistic kind of mood anyway lol.
I don't follow the seasons that closely (here we have a hot season and a not as hot season) but people still follow the "wheel of the year" in the way they act. I have a friend who used to work in security for a nightclub and she could tell you what time of year it was just by the way people were acting (whether she had to stop fights, if everyone ws depressed, if the had to politely ask people to stop having sex in the middle of the dance floor...).
I'm holding on to this one and listening to it again come april.

Great episode as always guys.  Can't wait for the next installment.

For Samhain, I did a small solitary ritual of thanks and reflection with an offering of apples that I harvested from my home--we had a bumper crop this year.  And drank a little 'cider' with the gods.  Though I must say Woodchuck is a poor substitute for the real thing.

I celebrated Halloween a few days early at an event in Long Island, rocking the Eye-gor look of Marty Friedman from 'Young Frankenstein.'  Good times.

I've finally gotten around to listening to it now after being unable to sleep tonight. it's about 7:36 am right now and I'm at the spot where Michelle is talking about the ghost hunting stuff. I like alot of what she's saying about paranormal state. Myself, my girlfriend, and some friends of hers have been wanting to start some ghost hunting locally. The only place we've been so far is a widely known place. I get some impressions of things, but we haven't really gone around to look at research, especially because many of the things there are not originally from the house or not originally the way the house was set up.

The issue is that a lot of the places around here that have to do with high levels of paranormal activity either get torn down or are difficult to get to.

I'm also now at the story about the fairy tree. Amusing to me. There's a tree here that doesn't feel like a tree. it generates heat that reads like human prana. It feels almost like it has a human consciousness. I tried explaining it to a self proclaimed druid, and he told me it was demonic. It certainly isn't. It's entirely without the deviant kind of manipulation and consciousness of any demonic entity I've ever been in contact with. It just feels like a very sad person. Curious.
